Dhirendra Kumar Dubey
Mr. Dubey, a lean management coach, is a mechanical engineer from IIT (BHU) Varanasi, 1985 batch. Out of his total experience of 36 years, his first 10 years were devoted to hands on implementation of TQM at Bharat Electronics Ltd. followed by 26 years of active consulting on Lean Management and New Product Development (NPD). He has been mentored by Dr. Noriaki Kano and Dr. Hitoshi Kume on NPD, as well as by James P Womack and John Y Shook on Lean Management. He brings a vast experience in all aspects of "Business Excellence through Lean Transformation." He had chaired sessions at “First Congress of Asian Network of Quality” in 2003 at Beijing, China, and had presented international papers on “Customer value management” and “How to make Six Sigma work for you.” He had been instrumental in publication of several books in India on lean management and had organized Lean Transformation Summit in India in 2014.
He is a Master Black Belt and was instrumental in customizing Motorola University Six Sigma Program for the benefit the Indian industry. Through his Gemba based learning at Toyota plants, in Japan and India, he has developed a Business Transformation Model for a long term sustainable growth centered around developing people capability. He had helped a large number of clients in a variety of industry segments – food processing, automobile, construction, information technology, space program, metal processing, engineering, textiles, garmenting, petroleum, petrochemicals, banking, financial services, and insurance. He had coached for business transformation of branded packaged food businesses at ITC - Atta, Biscuit, Snack food, Ready to eat, Confectionery etc. - offering better value to customers at competitive price, preventing any product liability related failures. Had coached bottle, crates and crown suppliers of Coco Cola for improving their process capability using SQC and SPC. Coached Bangalore Dairy for quality improvement and cost reduction. Coached Madura Garments to prepare for World Class Manufacturing for premium lifestyle products. Helped Arvind Ltd in its TQM initiatives across its business verticals. Helped FCI (BD) Ltd Bangladesh and Pratibha Syntex to become brand for brands. His Lean Construction coaching had inspired L&T Construction, Tata Reality & Infrastructure Limited, Group Projects of Aditya Birla Management Corporation, and KNK Nextgen Construction to execute projects within budget and time - a rare feat in construction sector. Coached Mahindra Research Valley, Punjab Tractors, Apollo Tyres and JK Tyres to define meaningful customer requirements and launch attractive quality products. Coached critical suppliers for “Tata Nano Car” to meet target cost and quality. His cluster-based model helped group of suppliers of Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Endurance Technologies and Voltas to deliver products with demanded quality, cost, delivery and productivity. Coached UltraTech Cement, GAIL, Indian Oil, Infosys, IBM Global Services, Honda Cars India and various other industries.
At BEL (1985 -95), he was in-charge for quality management of mobile RADAR and Satellite communication systems with exceptional mobility in border areas, good ride comfort, and low vibration transfer to mounted electronics. He had been instrumental in improving quality and reliability of products to qualify MIL-STD and JSS 55555 standards. Since 1995 he is into active consulting with Lean Transformation Consultancy, NPD School, Lean Global Network, and TQM International.
